"The moment I heard this kid on the mic at spruce street studios, I was blown away by his presence. It’s as if his voice inadvertently commands attention” explained producer Michael Louis “He has tremendous skill and drive which is rare these days, he knows what he wants.

He does know what he wants. Coming from Queens, New York, The Profit, born Robert Berman was always a driven young man. Legitimately hustling since his youth, he has pursued multiple business paths, prior to his signing to S-Throne. From mortgages, to a cleaning business he has tried to get his hands on and into everything.

Although he loved to hustle, his life started getting too relaxed with his extreme partying habits. This caused him to backslide in regards to his business choices, leading to a point where he had a serious run in with the law which landed him in a New Jersey prison. That was the turning point.

“Before I knew in it I was in over my head with no positive direction.” explained Profit “I never envisioned my self becoming caught up and trapped in a circle of confusion, till one day it hit me like a ton of bricks, I was locked down. I felt my character being destroyed and knew that in order to grow I must straighten out and become more goal orientated.”

From then on, he got serious, beginning a new business venture and spending more of his time in the studio, recording tracks and preparing for his upcoming debut album entitled “The Prophecies”

It was then that Mike Louis first heard him.

“This is going to be a long and “Profitable” relationship we are going to have, he’s a talented guy, so much we are putting him on Sovereign Throne tracks, headlining the AAO soundtrack. Said Louis, “All he needed was a little Pro Tools action and he’s on fire” “We’ll set him up at Norwood (Norwood Production Facility) and give him the attention that his talent calls for”


Change of Game

“Bobby, (Profit) is a man whom I think can change the game, create a new style. Hip Hop has left its creative roots and became a mass marketing machine. Although that’s not all bad, the creativity and freshness of hip hop is not here today like it was years ago, something has to change, that’s where The Profit comes in. He pioneers a style of hip-hop that is fresh and new. It’s a very exciting thing” says Louis.

Currently, Profit resides in New York, and is becoming a key figurehead at the Throne.
